Lenin is fit for another 100 years

The embalmed body of Bolshevik leader Vladimir Lenin is in good enough condition to remain 100 years or more in the mausoleum on Moscow’s Red Square, experts said on Tuesday after a study. The embalmed body of Lenin was placed in a glass case in the tomb after his death in 1924.

Chechen leader dies in Russian prison

Russian officials have denied that former Chechen warlord Salman Raduyev, found dead in a jail where he was serving a life sentence, had been beaten to death. Raduyev, 35, convicted for taking more than 2 000 people hostage in 1996, died on Saturday in a high-security prison in the Perm region of the Urals after internal haemorrhaging, officials said.
