The Cabinet’s April 17 statement on HIV/Aids policy — widely hailed as a crucial change of heart — is looking increasingly threadbare. Was it, as some maintain, merely a tactical manoeuvre to deflect international condemnation in advance of the G8 meeting in Canada.

Two more rightwingers arrested

Two more men were arrested on Wednesday in connection with an alleged plot to overthrow the government, police reported. Detective services representative Phuti Setati said thus far 17 people had been arrested in connection with the coup plot by white extremists.
