Frere Hospital whistle-blower fired

The medical superintendent of Cecilia Makiwane Hospital, who spoke out about the recent spate of baby deaths there, has been fired, the Eastern Cape health department said on Friday. The department found Dr Nokuzola Ntshona guilty on three charges of speaking out against its handling of the Frere Hospital maternity saga.

Frere whistle-blower ‘guilty’ of talking to media

A disciplinary committee has found Frere Hospital whistleblower Dr Nokuzola Ntshona guilty of speaking to the media, Dispatch Online reported on Tuesday. She was found guilty on Monday on three of four charges of speaking out against the government’s reaction to a Daily Dispatch probe of Frere Hospital’s maternity section.
