The PSCBC issued a statement saying majority of trade unions have signed the public sector wage agreement
​The public sector wage agreement is close to being a done deal, with 48% of workers represented by trade unions at the PSCBC supporting the offer
​The protracted public sector wage negotiations are close to being clinched with 42% of the employees represented having signed the three year deal
Wage talks to settle the impasse between government and doctors are ”within the settlement range”, the bargaining council said on Tuesday.
The Social Development Department and unions have agreed to implement the occupation specific dispensation, backdated to April 1 2008.

The Public Servants’ Association of South Africa said on Wednesday that it foresaw chaos in the country’s prisons on weekends following failure of the Department of Correctional Services to compensate its employees who work on Saturdays and Sundays. Correctional services spokesperson Manelisi Wolela said the matter was still under discussion.
