* SALES of durable and semi-durable goods in the retail sector continued to recover after the elections, says the Bureau for Economic Research at Stellenbosch.
The bureau’s nation-wide retail survey says the lower levels of violence and the spirit of reconciliation among political leaders after the election improved consumer confidence.
Sixty-seven percent of retail respondents found business conditions satisfactory in the survey conducted among retailers, wholesalers and motor dealers from June 6 to 21. of the year only 11 percent described business conditions as satisfactory.
