Wet weather whips Windies

THURSDAY, 12.30PM:

THE West Indies A touring team nearly got it right in the third and final one-day international against SA A at the Wanderers last night before rain wrecked their chances.

Jimmy Adams and his men had the SA A team reeling at 108/7 in the 20th over after they had scored 187/7 in their alotted 32 overs

However, play was interrupted twice by rain, and had to be called off shortly before midnight.

The visitors produced an accomplished performance and it is a pity that possible victory was marred by the weather.

20-year-old Wavell Hinds saved the best performance for last with an inspired 80 off 91 deliveries.

SA clinched the one-day series 2-0.
