The Mail & Guardian continued its steady growth with the latest ABC circulation figures showing a 5% year-on-year increase.
The paper’s ABC figure from July to December last year was 34 144 copies, compared with 32 510 for the last six months of 1996.
The paper experienced its highest sale ever over the Christmas period, hitting a bumper sale of 44 510.
Africa’s best read continues to reach further into the continent than any other local paper, having recently opened up sales in Tanzania to add to Kenya, Zambia, Lesotho, Swaziland, Zimbabwe, Malawi, Botswana, Namibia and Mozambique.
The Internet edition of the paper, eM&G, which has a worldwide following, has readerships in virtually all 52 countries on the continent.
