NIGERIA’S trade union umbrella body, the Nigeria Labour Congress, has ordered an indefinite public sector strike from next Monday if workers are not paid a promised minimum wage. NLC President Adams Oshiomhole said that the federal government and the governments of Bayelsa, Delta, and Lagos states should abide by promises to pay all workers a miminum of 3,660 naira ($42) a month. Other state governments should pay a promised minimum of 3,080 naira a month, he said.
