FORMER Namibian High Commissioner to the United Kingdom Ben Ulenga will launch a new political party on Tuesday. Ulenga, a high-profile member of the ruling South-West African People’s Organisation, resigned as high commissioner last August in protest of amendments to the constitution and Namibia’s military support for Democratic of Congo President Laurent Kabila. The constitutional amendments allowed President Sam Nujoma to serve a third term. Ulenga was suspended from Swapo’s central committee after publicising his concerns. The name and manifesto of the new party are yet to be announced.
