AMERICAN Michael Johnson easily won the men’s 200m at the Cape Town international athletics meeting on Friday, crossing the line with a wind-blown 20,41 seconds, half a second faster than South Africa’s Corne du Plessis with 20,95. Morne Nagel was third witha a 21,05 second time. Marion Jones also handily won the women’s 100m in 11,06 seconds, ahead of second-place South African Wendy Hartman with 11,38. South African Frantz Kruger won the discus with a throw of 67,38m, nearly six metres further than second-place Russian Sergey Lyakhov’s 61,53m effort.
