MORE EU FINANCING

AGREEMENTS worth R635-million in European Union funding for South Africa were signed on Tuesday. Deputy Finance Minister Gill Marcus and EU Ambassador Michael Laidler, Head of the Delegation of the European Commission in South Africa, took part in the signing ceremony at the Union Buildings in Pretoria. The agreements focus on capacity-building in the areas of financial management improvement systems, project planning and management, strengthening systems of planning, monitoring and evaluation of community-based public works, the SA Qualifications system, and technological support for small and medium enterprise development.
