THE organisers of a campaign to urge the government to provide rape survivors with the drugs which are thought to lessen the chances of contracting HIV/Aids have called on supporters to make a noise at noon on Thursday. Organisers, who include People Opposed to Women Abuse, the Union of Jewish Women and the Sandton Crisis Centre, have called on people who think the government should provide anti-Aids drugs freely and rapidly to rape victims to blow their car hooters, set off alarms for 26 seconds, ring church bells, or do anything to make a noise at 12noon. Journalist Charlene Smith who told of her rape in the Mail & Guardian has joined the campaign.
