A SELF-PROCLAIMED Nigerian prophet who in March predicted that Nigeria’s president-elect Olusegun Obasanjo will not be sworn in as president said he still stands by his words. “I am sure of what I saw, heard and I stand by it,” Pastor Tunde Bakare of Latter Rain Assembly told Monday’s edition of the independent newspaper The Punch. The pastor said in March that God told him in a vision that Obasanjo, who won the February presidential poll, will not be sworn in because he (Obasanjo) is not God’s choice for Nigeria. Last week, the prediction caused a stir when riots broke out in Lagos following a rumoured death of Obasanjo. The pastor urged Nigerians not to doubt the prophecy, but to pray to avert it.
