SOUTH Africa coach Bob Woolmer confirmed on Tuesday he would not be available to coach England after the World Cup. In Cape Town the Western Province Cricket Association said coach Duncan Fletcher would be allowed to leave if he was offered the job as England coach. Woolmer steps down as South Africa coach after the World Cup. England’s David Lloyd stepped down as planned when England’s participation in the tournament ended, after the first round. “I feel I need time to reflect on my position after the World Cup as, after five years on the road, I desperately need some rest,” Woolmer said in a statement. “It is only fair that England appoint someone immediately, as I would not be available until March next year which is not satisfactory from their point of view.” England are expected to announce their new coach soon, with interviews starting on Tuesday.
