THE Mozambican Electoral Administration and Technical Secretariat said on Tuesday that serious logistical problems continue to hamper the country’s voter registration drive in the country’s rural hinterland. STAE general director Antonio Carrasco, STAE general director, said a vehicle shortage, communication problems and the extreme remoteness of some of the country’s 1930 registration posts were the factors slowing down the registration. He remained confident, however, that STAE would meet its target of registering at least 8,3 million voters by the September 17 cut off date. Voter registration began on July 20 and must end on September 17 for the elections to be staged on December 3.
