THE Northern Province is exploring an exchange of teachers agreement with Mozambique’s Gaza province, with the main focus being on Portuguese being taught by teachers from Gaza. This follows the signing of an agreement with Gaza on Monday, to to stop illegal immigrants coming into the country. Premier Ngoako Ramatlhodi told reporters at the signing in Pietersburg, with Gaza governor Eugene Numaio, that the issue of illegal immigrants remained a difficult one. Numaio has been in the province since Thursday. The provinces now have agreements on illegal immigrants, illegal weapons, and poaching. Monday’s agreement also covers attracting investment, assisting safari operators travelling through Gaza, and stopping child labour. The next meeting of technical teams will take place in Gaza before the end of October, and the Northern Province delegation will include the business community.
