RANDELL OUT FOR A MONTH

THE Otago Highlanders face the next few rounds of the Super 12 competition without captain Taine Randell after he suffered a groin injury in Friday’s 33-31 win over the Cats. Randell, the All Blacks captain, tore an abductor muscle in his groin during the game in Dunedin and is expected to be out of action for about four weeks. “It’s really bad luck for him and the team because he’s been playing so well,” said Highlanders coach Peter Sloane. Hooker Anton Oliver has been named as stand-in captain until Randell recovers.
