SA ELECTRICITY utility Eskom has outsourced its fleet management services to a joint venture consisting of Sizwe Car Rental and Avis Car Rentals, Business Day has reported. Analysts speculate the deal could generate revenue of up to R20m a year and save Eskom fleet management costs. The contract, renewable annually, will be effective from the start of this month until August next year with Sizwe providing a full car rental service to Eskom. The contract is expected to generate an estimated 40% increase in revenue, a 100% increase in the size of the car fleet and a 50% personnel growth. The new relationship will contribute substantially to expansion of Sizwe’s operations, with rental stations to open in Pretoria and at the international airports in Cape Town and Durban.
