VERTICAL and above ground burials could be a solution to SAs grave space shortage, a problem exacerbated by the large numbers of people dying from HIV/Aids. Landscape designer Lynton Johnson said at the Funerex conference in Durban the rise in the number of people who had died because of HIV/Aids had affected demand for burial space in rural and urban areas.
