Sundowns earn point away

Sundowns managed to collect a point away when they played to a goalless draw against Lamontville Golden Arrows at Kings Park soccer stadium on Sunday afternoon.

Both teams missed golden opportunities to score goals in this lukewarm Castle Premiership game.

The visitors had a chance in the 17th minute but it was wasted by Simba Marumo, who ballooned it over the bar. Marumo didn’t have a good game and as a result he was replaced by Roston Kilambe in the 30th minute.

In the 40th minute Godfrey Sapula created another chance to put the Brazilians in the lead but skipper Daniel Mudau’s shot hit the crossbar with Arrows goalie Davies Phiri beaten hands down.

The highlight of Arrows chance to find the net was when Mabhuti Khanyeza failed to beat Rangers goalie Andre Arendse in the dying minutes of the game. — Sapa
