The South African online recruitment website CareerJunction.co.za says the internet business model has finally come of age and now achieves the largest job advertising reach in South Africa.
The company said that websites have not replaced the traditional recruitment agency but stepped into a channel that effectively services both the recruiter/company and the career seeker.
Operating primarily as an extensive database allowing career seekers to place résumés and recruiters to search for appropriate candidates, the process also works by recruiters placing job ads and career seekers apply for these ads, said a company statement.
CareerJunction’s managing director, Kris Jarzebowski, said his company provides its advertisers with a mechanism to advertise their vacancies to a large number of active and passive career seekers, as well as “acquiring additional exposure across a number of South Africa’s top websites without spending an extra cent”.
Partner agreements allow a single job advertisement to be automatically displayed across all sites.
“Our partner sites include Ananzi, Sunday Times Online, Business Day, Financial Mail, Mail & Guardian Online, HR Future, Homecoming Revolution, Exclusive Books and Get a Life, among others,” said Jarzebowski.
While many of the 18 or so current members of the Online Publishers Association network use various types of partner agreements, this model has not been known to work in print.
He said CareerJunction has taken its partnership strategy one step further by offering the same aggregation model within particular industries. Sites include School Guide for Educational Job Requirements and Engineering and Mining News.
In partnership with the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants, CareerJunction has also created a career portal called Cajunction.co.za, which is a targeted career service for chartered accountants and other financial professionals. – M&G Online reporter
