There’s a new dog in the White House

Miss Beazley, a 10-week-old female Scottish terrior puppy, moved into the White House on Thursday.

Bred in New Jersey, Miss Beazley was a gift from United States President George Bush to his wife, First Lady Laura Bush, for her 58th birthday in November.

Miss Beazley and the Bushes’ other dog, Barney, appeared to get along as the Bushes showed the puppy to reporters and photographers on the White House lawn on Thursday.

The two dogs are related — Barney’s half-brother is Miss Beazley’s father. The Bushes also have a cat, India, which also lives at the White House.
