Scooting up Sani

Bored with those silly superbikes and adventure tourers? Want to experience a different side of two-wheeled fun? Do you have, or can you borrow a scooter for the weekend of 14 – 16 January? “If so, come spend the weekend riding up Sani Pass with a bunch of kindred souls” says Gavin Foster. “We’re leaving at noon on Friday, and will spend that night at the Mountain Park Hotel in Bulwer. Saturday morning we’ll scoot through to Himeville and then scamper up the pass to enjoy a beer at the highest pub in Southern Africa. Later that day, we’ll roll back into the Mountain park for a mighty fine party. After rising at an appropriately late hour on Sunday, we’ll all wobble off home.”

You’ll need a valid passport to get into Lesotho. To book your accommodation at the Mountain Park Hotel, give them a ring on (039) 832 0026. Rates are R220 per person per night for dinner, bed and breakfast, or R30 per person per night camping. Make sure you tell them it’s for the Sani Scooter experience when you book.

Please drop Gavin Foster an e-mail on [email protected] or phone on (031) 708 2410 for further details. Pietermarizburg entrants can contact Mervin Koekemoer of the Motorcycle Centre on 083 626 9281. All welcome.
