Do it the right way

Our teachers always teach us about the Constitution of our country. The Constitution guides all South Africans. I would like my world to be a better place for all. The Constitution is the law we have to follow and we must do what it tells us. We must also follow our President Thabo Mbeki’s instructions. We have to obey him and do what he tells us to do. The law does not tell girls to scrub the floors and sweep the classrooms and the law does not tell boys to work in the gardens. Boys and girls are equal and it does not mean that because boys are bigger than girls that they are not equal. When given work, boys and girls should work together, because they are equal.

If we want to live in a perfect world, we have to be equal: girls and women are female and boys and men are male. My dream is of what a world would be like where there is perfect equality between boys and girls, men and women, all of us should work together and be responsible. There should be no work for boys only and there should be no work for girls only. Boys and girls must play the games they choose. We must be mixed in the classrooms and not told that this is a table for boys and that is a table for girls. When we do things together, we become friends and happy. We are equal.
