New-look centre pairing for Boks

Injuries have forced Springbok coach Jake White to make three changes to his Test-winning side, including dropping star centre Jean de Villiers for the weekend’s second Test against Scotland.

Both De Villiers and centre partner Jaque Fourie have been ruled out. De Villiers had left the field in the second half of the first Test with rib injuries after a bone-crunching collision with a Scotland player earlier in the game.

He will be replaced by upcoming star Wynand Olivier, while Snyman moves from left wing to centre to replace the injured Fourie.

Olivier made his Test debut last Saturday against the Scots when he replaced De Villiers in a match that saw a rampant South Africa run in four tries to trounce Scotland 36-16.

Snyman’s move from left wing to centre will see the welcome return of prolific runner Bryan Habana, who has recovered from an ankle injury.
