Further resignations from ANC

There have been more resignations from the African National Congress by people moving to the new Congress of the People, the South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC) reported on Friday.

Former African National Congress leader in KwaDukuza, KwaZulu-Natal, Phillip Mhlongo and North West ANC Youth League secretary Victor Keswa have resigned from the party.

Keswa, a public relations counsellor at the Madibeng Municipality, Brits, was a member of the ANC provincial executive council

A staunch supporter of former president Thabo Mbeki, he resigned from the ANC on Thursday, SABC reported.

”We went to the convention as members of the ANC but we were persuaded to say … we can’t correct the contradictions that we observed in the ANC. As a result I lodged my letter of resignation to the provincial secretary.”

Keswa said people were fighting within the ANC. — Sapa
