In the latest installment of our series on the National Senior Certificate exams, we speak to Michael Zuma about the grade 12 Business Studies paper, which was written today.
Zuma is the head of commerce at Little Flower Secondary School in Kwazulu-Natal.
He had 90 learners sitting for the exam, and feels they would have coped well.
“I think today’s paper was a good challenge for the learners and very fair,” he said.
“There were some difficult sections, but I don’t think any of my learners would have struggled with the paper, as it accommodated learners at all levels.”
Zuma felt the standard was very good, and that the exemplar would have been good preparation for the final paper.
“You could see the intention of the examiners was to test the learners’ knowledge, and the structure was very similar to the exemplar.”
“The only complaint I received from the learners is that they were pressed for time. The exam was three-hours long, but each question had a case study, so it involved a lot of reading,” he said.
