What are your thoughts on body image?

From beauty standards to the perceptions of the body and celebrity culture, everyone has an opinion. For the past two years, Blue Ivy’s hair has been the subject of much discussion within the black community about it being “unruly” and “untamed”.

Earlier this month, a photo of a make-up-free Unathi Msengana posing with a fan went viral followed by some very unkind comments about her beauty. Last week, Renee Zellweger’s dramatic change in appearance fuelled articles such as “The science behind Renee Zellweger’s New Face” and “The Four Reasons Renee Zellweger’s Face Actually Scares Us …” among others.

Are your perceptions of your body influenced by the way the media portrays ideas of beauty?

We’re conducting some research on all things body-image related, and we want to hear from you.
