EIGHT ARRESTS AFTER POLICE SHOT

POLICE have arrested eight people during after two policemen were shot dead and four others wounded in separate incidents on the Cape Peninsula at the weekend. Provincial police spokesman Superintendent Wicus Holtzhausen on Tuesday said police have also seized four pistols after the policemen were attacked in separate incidents in Khayelitsha, Strandfontein, Kraaifontein, and Langa. Western Cape police commissioner Leon Wessels thanked the investigating officers on Tuesday for their quick response and also the community for their input.
