AS part of an ongoing process of fine- tuning to make the Mail & Guardian, the best weekly read, the newspaper has a new section this week – Inside.
Inside will open up a new space for top- quality feature and analytical writing, incorporating this with existing features such as the leader page, Krisjan Lemmer, Dear Walter, Madam & Eve, science and books.
This week in Inside: Katy Bauer goes behind the scenes at the Johannesburg library; Mahmood Mamdani ponders the strengths and weaknesses of Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni’s non-party state; Stephen Gray climbs to the top of Thaba Bosiu, Lesotho’s national shrine; Ronald Suresh Roberts rejects the xenophobia of roots for a broader citizenship of the world; and in Dear Walter the Mail & Guardian’s most famous correspondent uses a secret biblical code to decipher the African renaissance.
The introduction of Inside is one of a series of adjustments to the paper that will culminate next month. Watch this space.
