OLD MUTUAL DECISION TODAY

THE Cape High Court will decide on Monday whether Old Mutual will be allowed to convert to a listed company. More than 2000 pages of documents were submitted in the application. If permission to demutualise is granted the firm will list on the London and Johannesburg stock exchanges. The firm’s international operations and plans for a London primary listing may make demutualisation more complex than Sanlam’s project last year. More than three million policyholders will receive a minimum of 200 shares worth between R11 and R14 if the listing is approved.
