A PARIS prosecutor on Tuesday called for a 12- to 15-year sentence against notorious “dog of war” Bob Denard for his role in the 1989 assassination of Comoran president Ahmed Abdallah. Prosecutor Paul Bilger told a court on the penultimate day of Denard’s two-week trial that both the 70-year-old mercenary leader and one of his lieutenants, 46-year-old Dominique Malacrino, were involved in Abdallah’s death. He said the shots were fired, however, by Jean-Paul Guerrier, a third defendant who is on the run and failed to turn up for the trial.
