ERITREA ASKS FOR SA HELP

ERITREA on Wednesday asked for South Africa’s help in ensuring that a framework agreement for peace with Ethiopia is put into action as soon as possible. Eritrean Foreign Affairs Minister Woldense Haile met President Thabo Mbeki in Pretoria on Wednesday afternoon to affirm his country’s acceptance of Organisation for African Unity proposals for ending the border dispute. Foreign Affairs spokesman Marco Boni said his department might have more information on the outcome of the talks with Mbeki by Thursday.
