SWAZI AIRLINE DENIES THEFT

AIR-LINK Swaziland on Tuesday dismissed government reports that staff at the small kingdom’s Manzini International Airport regularly steal items from travellers’ baggage. The thieves allegedly duped passengers by replacing valuable items in their baggage with stones, to ensure that they did not detect any difference in the weight of their suitcases. Air-Link general manager Teddy Mavuso said on Tuesday that a preliminary report to Swaziland parliament about the alleged theft ring are “baseless and unfounded and meant to discredit our company”.
