SECURING E-COMMERCE

E-COMMERCE, or buying and selling things over the Internet, has got a boost from Absa Bank, Boland PKS, First National Bank and Nedcor, in alliance with MasterCard and Visa, all of whom have elected to support the Secure Electronic Transaction standard (Set). The standard will allow consumers to make purchases by credit card over the Internet.

AIRSHIP SHARES

THE Hamilton Airship Company has announced a public share issue of 5-million shares at 200c and a private placing of 95-million shares at the same price. The offers close on December 9. The company builds airships based on a modular design refined by Denel Aviation and plans to construct a 28 ton payload airships, the HA 140, or ”Nelson”, which ”should” be in the air on January 1 2000. The Johannesburg Stock Exchange has approved a total stock issue of 200331829.
