LAW enforcement officials warn that they will be out in force on Monday, as holiday makers return home following the Easter holidays.
Over 1000 road blocks and speed checkpoints have been set up along major routes. Arrive Alive has appealed to motorists not to travel between 3pm and midnight and between 1am to 6am, as these periods have the highest recorded accident rates. During last year’s Easter holidays, 221 people died on South African roads, of which 42,8 percent were pedestrians.
