CAMEROON TO PROBE DISAPPEARANCES

CAMEROON authorities will investigate the disappearance of nine young men detained by a crack crime squad on suspicion of theft but said by a local human rights group to have been executed. Christian Action for the Abolition of Torture (ACAT) said it had reliable information that the nine had been killed after their January arrest in the commercial capital Douala. They were allegedly stripped, bound and executed before their bodies were disposed of using acid. – Reuters
