ZAMBIA has run out of accommodation to house delegates at the upcoming summit of the Organisation for African Unity (OAU), government officials and diplomats said on Wednesday. A housing complex intended for the visiting presidents, dubbed the OAU village, was abandoned after it become clear that it would not be finished in time for the July 9-11 summit. Zambian Vice President Enoch Kavindele announced last week that he had given up his official residence so that delegates to the OAU summit could use it. Some cabinet ministers reportedly have also given up their homes for the same reason. – AFP
