WCAR LOGO SATINIST, SAY CONSERVATIVES

THE ying-yang-style emblem of the World Conference Against Racism has come under fire from the conservative Afrikaner Eenheidsbeweging (Afrikaner unity movement) as a “Satanist” symbol, familiar to the occult world. AEB leader Cassie Aucamp said in a statement on Wednesday that he had learned with shock and disillusionment that the symbol was being used by the conference. He said the yin-yang, with its origin in Zen Buddhism, was a popular New Age device and represented the amalgamation of opposing forces, good and evil and God and Satan. “The underlying message is that there is no antithesis between good and evil, but that good and evil are in essence two sides of the same universal coin. “Satanists have enthusiastically made this symbol their own, and use to express the equalisation of God and Satan.” He said the AEB distanced itself from any action that attempted to relate good and evil in this way. t also asked for clarity on how the conference came to use the symbol, and would write to the United Nations Human Rights Commission about it. The intergovernmental WCAR, which starts on Friday, is in fact using an adapted version of the yin-yang sign, with shades of grey. Thee related NGO forum has used the original black and white symbol. – Sapa
