FARMER ON BAIL AFTER DOG ATTACK

A FARMER from Waterpoort near Louis Trichardt appeared in court on Wednesday after apparently setting his dogs on three Zimbabwean job-seekers. Captain Ailwei Mushavhanamadi said the men approached Jacobus du Plessis for work and he told them he had none to offer. He then allegedly set his dogs on the men. Two of the men were severely bitten and hospitalised in Louis Trichardt, Mushavhanamadi said. The farmer was charged with assault with the intent to commit grievous bodily harm and was released without bail after briefly appearing in the Louis Trichardt Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday morning. The case was remanded to November 2. – Sapa
