The price of petrol will drop by 19c a litre from midnight, the Department of Minerals and Energy said on Tuesday.
Diesel with 0.3% sulphur content will drop by 20.7c per litre, wholesale, and diesel with a 0.05% sulphur content will drop by 22.7c per litre, wholesale.
Illuminating paraffin will drop by 37c a litre in the single maximum national retail price.
The department said that during the period under review, the average international product prices of petrol, diesel and illuminating paraffin decreased and the average rand/US dollar exchange rate strengthened when compared to the previous period.
The minister of minerals and energy also approved an increase of two cents per litre in the wholesale margin of the oil industry and an increase of 0.3c per litre in the service cost recovery with effect from December 1. – Sapa
