A two-year-old boy was found safe and sound after surviving for four days alone in a German forest, police said on Thursday.
The boy named Nabil, whose parents are Yemeni, was found by two German soldiers sitting in a pool of water at a spot about 3km from the playground where he had gone missing on Sunday.
“He was hungry but most of all thirsty and he was very tired,” said a spokesperson for the police in the town of Homberg in central Germany.
Nabil was said to be in relatively good health, considering his ordeal.
Police said they could not rule out that he had been abducted and then dumped in the forest, but a medical examination revealed no evidence of injuries or a struggle.
Police said they would try to interview Nabil with the help of an interpreter. — AFP
