Missing Mthatha boys found murdered

Two missing Mthatha boys were found sodomised and murdered at a disused bus depot on Friday, Eastern Cape police said.

The boys — aged six and 12 — disappeared while playing in the street outside their home in Norwood late on Thursday afternoon.

Their family and the community joined the police in an all-night search and they were found early on Friday.

”We suspect they had been sodomised, their hands were tied behind their backs and they had been hit on the head with bricks,” police spokesperson Superintendent Nondumiso Jafta said.

”I have just come from the scene. It is terrible, terrible.”

The boys’ shocked family had to be taken to the doctor for medical treatment.

Police have offered a R100 000 reward in their quest to find those responsible for the deaths and have asked anyone with information to contact Detective Inspector Zwelitsha Zamla on Tel: 083 501 3300. — Sapa
