The Vereeniging laundry murder case will soon be re-enrolled at court, Gauteng minister of community safety Firoz Cachalia said on Friday.
”The police have assured me that the matters of concern raised by the magistrate are being dealt with and that the case will soon be re-enrolled at court,” Cachalia said during his budget speech.
Murder charges against four accused were provisionally dropped last month after the court found there was insufficient evidence to prosecute.
The bodies of three women employees were found stuffed into laundry bins in December last year.
Cachalia also said the trial of the alleged killers of the Mbhele sisters will continue. Their bodies were found in Nancefield, Soweto, last year. Two suspects in their murder are out on bail.
”I will continue to work with the police to ensure that justice is served in this matter,” Cachalia said. — Sapa
