Media24 is diving into the psychology of women – literally.
The media group on Tuesday announced the launch of another addition to the women’s magazine category, Psychologies, which will be available on shelves in April 2007.
The bi-monthly publication is aimed at the 38-year-old woman and will focus on self-accomplishment, better living and relationships. It will be edited by Tracy Melass, former deputy editor of O, the Oprah magazine.
Media24 women’s magazines publisher Marí Lategan says the Psychologies reader wants more than what traditional glossy magazines offer.
‘She is part of a unique segment of an emotionally intelligent audience traditionally not covered by female magazines. Psychologies will appeal to her as it is a magazine for reading – not leafing through.”
Meanwhile, Media24 is this week launching its international magazine InStyle aimed at a women aged between 25 and 35.
Editor Clare O’Donoghue says the magazine will carry 60 percent international and 40 percent local content.
‘Certain editorial staples that appear in the US edition, like awards show fashion coverage, will be shared with the South African edition, giving our readers up-to-date news.”
The magazine launches with a print order of 60,700 copies.
