PATH is an international non-profit organization that creates sustainable, culturally relevant solutions, enabling communities worldwide to break longstanding cycles of poor health.
PATH is seeking brief (3-page) expressions of interest to conduct a rapid appraisal of the maternal and child health and development situation from the perspective of a broad spectrum of stakeholders in four districts in South Africa. The planned rapid appraisal will take place in one selected district in each of Gauteng, KwaZulu-Natal, Mpumalanga, and Northern Cape Provinces and will utilize available secondary data acquired by the organization as well as primary data to be captured through qualitative methods. The appraisal report will document root health and development problems and challenges facing pregnant women and children below two years of age as prioritized by the communities, facilities and other health, welfare and local governance structures. Applicant organizations must be available to conduct field work in October and November and submit a final report no later than December 31, 2011.
Based on a review of the submitted EOIs PATH will invite short-listed organizations to submit a detailed tender proposal. Additional proposal details will be provided to those organizations invited to submit full proposals.
