Weekly Mail starts Cape Edition

The new Cape Edition will include news of special Interest to those in the western and eastern Cape, as well as a full account of what’s on in Cape Town – what can’t be missed and what must be missed in the movie houses, theatres, galleries, clubs and music venues.

It will be available throughout the Cape on a Friday afternoon.

Home deliveries are available in Cape Town, Port Elizabeth, Grahamstown, Knysna and Uitenhage.

This week also sees major changes in two Weekly Mail columns. Thomas Equinus takes his whips, spurs and Catholic girlfriend onto the letters page (though his winners can still be found on the sports page), and Steve Friedman will now write a serious column of political and social commentary.

The Linksfield Liberal has finally admitted defeat (in the wake of the Cosatu congress) and left the country. He will only be back if the AWB guarantee a reception committee at the airport.
