Kenya’s “two” presidents have congratulated President Cyril Ramaphosa on his election as state president.
In a tweet to Ramaphosa, the official state president of Kenya, Uhuru Kenyatta expressed confidence in Ramaphosa’s ability to “steer South Africa to greater heights”. Kenyatta then thanked former president Jacob Zuma for his service to South Africa and the African continent.
We congratulate @CyrilRamaphosa for being elected the 5th Democratic President of the Republic of South Africa. We are confident that you will continue to steer South Africa to greater heights. We also thank former President Jacob Zuma for his service to country and continent.

Kenyan opposition leader Raila Odinga also sent felicitations to Ramaphosa in a letter. On January 30, Odinga held his own inauguration at Uhuru Park, where he solemnly swore to truly and diligently serve the people and uphold the Constitution of the Republic of Kenya.
