A SPURNED lover was sent to a mental hospital after he plastered hundreds of photographs of his beloved on the walls of Cairo subway stations. According to press reports the man, a 46-year-old electrician who pretended he was a police officer, had asked to marry a Cairo University student he had fallen in love with, but her family rejected his proposal. He then took photographs of the 22-year-old student without her knowing and made hundreds of copies of them before plastering them on the walls of around a dozen subway stations as well as on her home, the government daily added. He also scrawled declarations of love on the photos, it said. The young woman’s mother then managed to have the man sent to a psychiatric hospital to have him examined.
