Engen Petroleum was forced to shut its 125 000 barrels-per-day refinery in South Africa after a major power failure in the Durban area, the company’s spokesperson, Herb Payne, said on Monday.
He said the refinery would be fully operational again by next week Monday, October 18.
“We expect the refinery to be back in operation by this time next week, although we will start running crude by about Wednesday,” he told Reuters.
Payne also said Engen would shut the plant again for three weeks starting on November 6 to conduct routine maintenance. — Reuters
